Eligibility
Educator’s Academy activities are open to all UAMS faculty.
Program Content
A program that inspires, reflects, and sustains a shared institutional vision to promote high-quality teaching, learning, educational research, and scholarship.
Chancellor’s Teaching Awards (Deadline: Mach 1, every year)
Established in 2004 to recognize and award excellence in teaching among faculty in all the colleges and the Graduate School, this program includes two awards: Teaching Excellence and Society and Health Education Excellence.
Educational Innovation Grants (Deadline: May 1, every year)
Grants foster educational scholarship and promote faculty development in teaching and learning for dissemination throughout the higher educational community.
Workshops on Teaching
Workshops and activities designed to assess, train, and guide, teaching faculty in the fundamentals of teaching and instructional design.
Teaching Consultations
Consultations are meetings with a teaching specialist or master teacher to work on specific elements related to teaching and learning.
Teaching Observation by Peers (TOPs)
Formative observations of teaching help faculty understand principles of teaching and learning, encourage reflection and aid in the development of their pedagogical skills.
Teach the Teacher Symposium (Spring semester, every year)
A formal symposium that gives teaching professionals from all areas of UAMS an opportunity to share their teaching practices with a broad audience.
Professional Learning Network Activities (NEW)
Less formally structured than traditional professional development, learning network activities offer opportunities to learn and grow as professionals with support from a diverse network of people and resources.
Recognition of Commitment to Teaching Excellence program
A Recognition Program to acknowledge faculty who engage in a series of experiences to strengthen their teaching effectiveness.
